Thanks, ladies! I'll try adding it all at once next time...I hate
prancing around checking on it constantly for dye release, never
being sure of the timing. I find so much more here in this forum
than just about anywhere else ( like the oxygen-kills-henna
tip...!!). I'm using the Mumtaz Al-Aroosa till I can get some
better henna, and it doesn't stain bad ( on the hands and
feet...anywhere else and it doesn't stain beyond a sad weak
orange ).
I have another question about design and application: how do I get
my end results to look like they do when I first apply them? I did a
pretty twisty leaf design on my hand yesterday, and the henna lines
I applied were small and delicate; they DRIED small and delicate;
but now that the paste is off, the stems and swirlies are thick, and
the leaf patterns are indistinguishable from a big brown blob! I
won't even talk about the flowers I drew...ugh. They were so cute
when I started! Now, I did wrap them this last time, so the toilet
paper probably smudged it a bit...but even if I don't wrap, the
dye "spreads" out of the lines I put em in. The paste doesn't get
runny or loose...that's not it...it's like it spreads under my skin!
Should i try and make even smaller lines? Any suggestions? Thanks-
Angie
