through my own brain. This year has been very disappointing for
me and Anne when doing public henna; while we have noticed
that people seem more educated about henna we are often not
making our booth fee. The hassle of setting up and breaking
down and getting transportation and possibly not even making
our booth fee is wearing us down. The only consolation is that
people are being exposed to henna, thinking of it as an option,
taking our cards, calling us for parties etc. If we see ourselves
as living breathing billboards we can justify sitting around in the
sun all day.
Parties and private events are MUCH more profitable, but I think
that the public henna will ahve to continue so that we can
continue to get our name out there.
but still our soul searching goes on as we search for a place for
henna in society.
Good luck with your own process and enjoy the henna that you
