I really should have paid more attention in Sunday school. Meeting
with my grad advisor this evening, she said .... "Jezebel was one of
these Canaanite/Phoenician women you keep talking about, and they did
henna, right?" Um, yes, no doubt about that. "I always used to sit
in Sunday school and wonder why the dogs who ate up Jezebel left her
hands and feet........" and I went WOW WOW WOW amd started bouncing
all over her office.

If you haven't been to my lectures or like that ... the
Canaanites/Phoenician people hennaed hands, feet, and were the
indigenous Baal/Anath worshippers that the Jewish immigrants viewed
with fear and loathing ... but ... the Jews DID adapt henna through
during the period that this story was written. Have a read through
the link and have a bounce with me! The word henna doesn't show up
here, but if you set in henna along with her doing up her face with
harquus (stilbic) and plaiting her hair (with henna as a pre-nup),
things start falling into place!

The dogs left her hands and feet? They were hennaed ....
implications????? Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
