There are the products like Temptu and there are the premix pastes
that have safe dyes that provide various colors including black.
There are always alternatives and choices.

Sounds to me though that you just need to decide whether or not you
want to offer the alternatives as part of your service. That is a
decision that is purely up to you. You can decided that you only
offer henna designs in the henna powder that you use. Show the
colors they produce and stick to that.

Some people really do like the look of the black designs. Having a
safe alternative to PPD is a service some henna artist may add to
their services. But, you do not have to. The process are a bit
different. You will have to provide different after care
information. You will have to invest time into learning to use them
well. You will have to invest money into getting the supplies. So,
I don't know if I would let one customer's desires be what leads me
to changing what I am doing if I am happy with what I am doing. Make
your decision based upon what you want to be doing and what you want
to invest in terms of time and energy and finance. I like to honor
what customers want, but that is within the context of what I am
doing and have to offer. Before shifting or adding something new,
make sure it is your desire to do so that leads you there.

Take care.

Maureen
