Coolness! I used to absolutely LOVE those! I used a long strip of
Guatemalan cloth to carry both my babies from infancy up to 2 years
and they're GREAT! I think the babies develop communication skills
much better in a sling because they're up near eye level with the
grownups, watching expressions, nuances, pauses .... and those long
pieces of narrow cloth were so easy to use and clean. I'd just tie
the baby up to me and go to work or whatever!
Similar aspects of discarding, reconstructing culture in the pages
linked below, using as a metaphor the most truely terrifying (to me)
salad I've ever met.
