Thank you all for your input, more is welcome. It is great
reassurance that I am not alone(I knew I wasn't) In response to a few
comments, just so you all kow me a little better. I am on my own
(actually living with boyfriend of 10 years, which does not bother
parents, hmmm? another discussion though) My parents seem to value my
artistic ability for the most part, my minor was interior design, and
I have already completely redone two houses for them since I
graduated from college 7 years ago. I let my dad question to a
degree, with the understanding that he does not know diddly about art
and free expression. I find the comment from Allison interesting
about whether work would have a problem with hennaed hands, etc. I
work for a commodities brokerage firm, financial companies are rather
stodgy, but being in the marketing department surrounded by
other "weird" artistic people I didn't even worry about, and no one
has said a word.
