bombing. They felt like no one really understood our loss. We heard
things like get over it and go on. We continued to mourn in our own
way and rebuild in the spirit of those who died and of ALL those that
helped us during that time. SO many people came to our aid and
offered what they could. We have a beautiful memorial now. (I will
leave that alone)
Again, know that you are thought of, and our hopes and prayers are
with you today and always.
On this anniversary I wanted to thank the people of the Henna
: Page Forum for all your support last year when my city was going
: through hell. On that day a year ago I stayed off the phone to
: keep the lines free and mostly sent emails back and forth to
: family and friends. I also checked into the Forum to clear my
: mind and found so many words of support and empathy. I also
: received many emails from Forum people expressing their
: I was so touched and changed by this support. I think in New
: York we feel that the rest of the world doesn't understand us or
: thinks that we are arrogant (this part might be true!). I was so
: pleased to hear from people all over the world whose hearts
: were with us in New York City; this is something that many of us
: here noticed and really appreciated.
: On this anniversary many of the emotions of that time are
: coming back to me very strongly, and among those emotions is
: a deep feeling of support from and connection with so many of
: you whom I know only through the Forum or email, and I
: remember how comforted I felt knowing you were all out there.
