In reply to: Ratios change with each powder: different with every powder! posted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on September 14, 2002 at 01:26:38:Good to know Catherine! I am curious to do more as I am free for
next month or two, I will be able to spend some time on all this.
May, I ask what was the ratio in case of Shelly and Kenzi, if you
don't mind Please!!
I can't say how many types I have tried but I have stopped using
measurements for very long time, till I saw the posting. I promise
to check few other brands, I could get hands on.
* Catherine thanks!! for pointing it out, I noticed but neglected
- if we need to make paste with significant lower or more higher
amount, we may need to use little less or more for example if I need
2 OZ powder I may have to use may be 6.3 or 6.4 OZ. in the same
condition and if the powder is 10 OZ then .3 or .5 will add up. I
remember the liquid I added, was not less then 3 OZ ( the error of
+_ =.1) in the powder, if I wanted I could have added more liquid
and the paste could have still be easy to draw with a cone ( which I
have been using) at least.
- if mehndi powder is well sifted or less sifted, that will change
the liquid requirement in the paste( I have tested before).
*The type of tool like Jeq. bottle or cone or any other tool like
tooth pick will need different consistency of paste.
In the end I think it is good to know there could be more or less
requirement of liquid in the powder in order to make paste, one
should not neglect paying attention while doing above.
** It is a good idea to make paste by adding water and waiting for
a while so that powder can absorb as much water as possible. (approx
2 hours after check the paste and if required, add more H2O)
: I just did a very careful test of 5 different powders .. and it
: very different amout of liquid to bring each powder to the same
: consistency! I did milligrams and milliliters counted them out to
: drop and .... for instance, Kenzi's spring 2002 powder took TWICE
: much as liquid as Shelly to get the same consistency! No fooling!
: two were the same!
