Wow, thanks Kenzi! I really do need to update fotos, I've been way
too busy.
So I guess what is odd is that the henna would make the skin pop off
the shell. This usually would happen when the skin gets too hot and
contracts. I would expect having something wet like henna on the skin
would just expand the skin, which would tighten back up when dry. Of
course goatskin is weird; it contracts when hot unlike most other
solids, and expands when cold. And bandirs are pretty funky drums,
with the snares and all that Moroccan musical juju. And henna we all
know about! Perhaps just too many dynamics. I wonder if it had
worked, and had been played, where it might've sent one?
