Some others were from henna online resellers. They had dye and grit.
Others were purchased from Indian grocers/shops in the US. They had
some hellacious dye and grit. Of course, I can't test what I haven't
got (I have a dozen I believe are Indian)... there's no reason to
assume that there is NO unadulterated clean henna coming out of India
... but if there is, none has fallen into my hands.
The paper was written to advise the Indian industry what should be the
standards for exporting, as they had to compete with henna from other
countries, and get through customs without seizure. I'm not
persuaded that the advice was taken.
Mind .... Jamila is from Pakistan, not India, and it's as clean as
