Hi Kelly,

Once the henna stained the wood it stayed the same colour.. it didn't
darken like it would on skin. I didn't polyurethane it as a friend
gave me the box to henna & I gave it back to her with the paste still
partly on. She removed the rest of the paste & did not put anything
on it. The stain was still a lovely dark henna colour and was
beautiful.
