Picture: I used Mecca henna (terped) on the nails and MDH (terped) on
the skin. I left the paste on for about 4 hours. My smallest nails
are kinda soft (like hard skin) and you can see that it's darker than
the other nails.

I can certainly help you with the tests as I do brides alot and they
always want finger/toe tip henna.

So far, my findings are as such;

1) MDH henna, terped - faint or no dyeing at all (at least 3 cases)
2) Shama henna, terped - as above

These 2 pastes stain the skin with no problems. The brides normally
leave the paste on for 5 hours or more.

3) Mecca henna, terped and unterped - always dyes a deep brilliant red

I've used my own supply of mecca henna and sometimes the brides will
use theirs and the results are always the same, beautiful reds on the
nails. I've seen people like Lauren and Kenzi getting very nice reds
on their nails with their powder so I know that it might not be the
powder, but something else.

Perhaps now I'll ask them to soften their nails before I go over ;).
Thanks for the tip!
