I find that using terpene-rich oils in the paste greatly reduces the
length of the orange-sherbet stage. Without the orange-sherbet, I
can get dark color within a day and for a week and a half, medium
color for a week and a half, and orange sherbet for EVER (okay, about
two weeks). With terpene-rich oil, I get dark color after a day's
waiting period and for about a week and a half, medium color for a
week and a half, and orange sherbet for 3-4 days. I count this to
the time when I can reasonably go over the design with a new one and
not have the old one weirdly show through, not to the time when it is
completely and totally unseeable.
You can get the oils at very good prices online at my site and others.
