Re: Huntington, CA - Not us!

little info to go on. But I didn't want to give up, knowing they
will be so close to me doing this again. After exhuasting all
avenues open to me, I came here for advice on how to best handle this
situation. The fair people, who do have specific info WILL NOT
release it, even knowing the danger that exists. They were thankful
of being made aware of PPD and what to tell people who call in with
complaints. Through the advice I received here, I was able to
hopefully prevent the black henna slingers from doing another fair
that is close to me. These people were using the same "company"
Maureen, I think you are right about the company thing. Not knowing
how all that works is what I was looking for. The tax id #, vending
#, license or something. A more specific, with out question way of
identifying who these people were.
Bottom line is that they knew what they were doing was wrong, and I
don't want to sit back and let them do it again. I feel an
obligation there. But it was in no way meant to accuse someone of
something they didn't do.
: Hi Kath,
: I agree that residing in Huntington, CA is not sufficient
: for accusations to begin. Personally I don't think that a hunt is
: required. The people who held the fair these folks last attended
: know exactly who they are. And, they have complete contact
: information. Rather than guessing, I would think that going back
: them and obtaining name, address and telephone number might be more
: productive. I would think that they might actually want to play a
: proactive role and contact other fair organizers about the problem
: the product of this particular vendor has caused. Just the factual
: information about the number and nature of complaints should do the
: trick. And also, it would seem to me that the fair organizer
: the complaints now is the most logical one to contact the vendors
: Complaints to and about the wrong vendor/artist/company won't be
: productive. Individual vendors at the fairs are most likely just
: that, individuals and not actually part of a "company" other than
: self identified but not as a legal entity. So there is great
: likelihood the name of the company is just a made up bogus name
: for the fairs and obtaining vending licenses.
: Erkin Art and Huntington, CA is really not sufficient information
: pin point this person/company. That might be why it was given out
: the first place. For the fair organizers to give seemining useful
: but ultimately nonidentifying information just sends folks on a
: goose chase. Better to go back to them and ask them to get real or
: wait until more information can be obtained at another time and
: another source.
: My couple of cents on this.
