I frequently purchase things online and I always expect payment to be
received before my order ships. I generally prefer to stick to
PayPal whenever possible because I want my purchases to ship as
quickly as possible and I get a payment receipt right away. However,
if I send a check I don't expect a shipment before the amount clears
from my account.

I don't personally like money orders because you have to spend money
on something that could easily get lost in the mail. Even so, I
don't think your buyer should expect you to ship anything until you
have the funds.

P.S. Lauren I received your package yesterday. Many thanks! I'm
looking forward to giving this a try.

: I sell on Ebay as well as through my website, and yet again,
: someone's payment has been lost in the mail. Or so I am told. It
: was sent regular mail. They tell me they checked and it has not
: cashed. Now they are getting frustrated about not receiving the
: package they paid for. This happened once before and I let myself
: get talked into sending out a package I never did receive the money
: for. I should think it's clear by he fact that the money order is
: not cashed that I have not received it, and I don't think it's
: reasonable to keep sending out stuff with no payment in the hopes
: that it will eventually arrive. There's got to be a middle
: If it's lost in the mail, it is hardly my fault. I've asked the
: person to send another money order, saying I'd return the first one
: uncashed if it ever arrives (it's been almost a month since the
: one) and they refused, saying they already did their part of the
: bargain. I think that was reasonable, especially since they can
: their money back from the first, uncashed one. I know I've posted
: about similar stuff here before, I'm just venting, I guess. If you
: were an Ebay buyer, what would you expect to happen in this
