I understand about the mail-order thing ( use to sell Avon by mail ).
I like to send money orders when businesses accepts them because I
have no credit card or checking account. Also it's a good idea to ask
customers to buy post office money orders because they are less
expensive for the customer to trace. Furthermore, the business might
think less about that counterfiet concern. Sometimes if I'm worryed
about my money order getting lost in the mail, I'll send it certified
mail with that includes that return address green card. It gives me
reinsurance that the business got my money order. I also call or e-
mail to confirm. Hopes this helps.

: I sell on Ebay as well as through my website, and yet again,
: someone's payment has been lost in the mail. Or so I am told. It
: was sent regular mail. They tell me they checked and it has not
: cashed. Now they are getting frustrated about not receiving the
: package they paid for. This happened once before and I let myself
: get talked into sending out a package I never did receive the money
: for. I should think it's clear by he fact that the money order is
: not cashed that I have not received it, and I don't think it's
: reasonable to keep sending out stuff with no payment in the hopes
: that it will eventually arrive. There's got to be a middle
: If it's lost in the mail, it is hardly my fault. I've asked the
: person to send another money order, saying I'd return the first one
: uncashed if it ever arrives (it's been almost a month since the
: one) and they refused, saying they already did their part of the
: bargain. I think that was reasonable, especially since they can
: their money back from the first, uncashed one. I know I've posted
: about similar stuff here before, I'm just venting, I guess. If you
: were an Ebay buyer, what would you expect to happen in this
