I have to say that 'blowing a coat' does NOT mean that an animal is
in a stressful environment or malnourished. No, no, no! I raise
rabbits and they go through a major molt ('blowing their coat') at
least once a year, maybe twice depending on the individual rabbit and
each rabbits genetic predisposition to molting - just natures way of
replacing the old fur since it doesn't continually grow like in a
human.
