henna drums picky clientele

I'll go for months without selling a drum, then all of a sudden I'll
sell them all at one fair. go figure.
What I DO though, is estimate how much the drum is worth retail and
only add about 1/3 to 1/2 of that amount on the drum. For instance,
I have a drum worth $70, I will only do $35 worth of henna on it - a
fairly small or spread out design. You can't sell a 70 drum for much
more than $100 with henna on.
For private jobs I'll do as much henna as the owner wants to pay
for. I discourage people from getting $100 worth of henna on a $30
drum unless it's REALLY REALLY special to them!
try taking your drums around to some music stores. They like
different stuff! And the customers are looking for something they can
get their hands on.
Good to know about ebay though - i was thinking about selling a
couple of my drums. maybe i won't now!
