When I did the first survey I didn't know what the green dye was. I
was concerned because I know that dye stains nylon and that limits it
to just a few sorts of dye. Coal tar dye/Azo dye/PPD. I found a
paper published that has the details and I posted the abstract and a
few pertinant paragraphs "And the Green Dye Is: .... drum roll" a
couple of weeks ago. I confirmed it with FDA seizures and a lab test
on a "natural" green henna that I know to be dyed. It was also
confirmed through other sources.
I don't think the concentrations of that green dye are anything close
to what's going out as "black henna" and the stain doesn't penetrate
skin like black PPD ... BUT .... IF THE GREEN COAL TAR DYE DOESN'T
IMPROVE STAIN AND MAY BE HARMFUL DON'T YOU WANT TO MAKE AN INFORMED
DECISION ABOUT HENNA THAT HAS GREEN DYE? IF YOU ARE AN IMPORTER DON'T
YOU WANT TO KNOW IF YOUR EXPORTER IS SENDING YOU DYED HENNA?
