You might also want to try the grocery store pickling row. I picked
up a fairly large bag for about 97 cents. I recall when I bought the
chuna it was out on a shelf but I guess every store is lined up
differently. I've seen it consistently appear in a little brightly
coloured plastic bottle with a flip top. It is sort of mushy wet
inside. I always dampen my hand before dipping a finger in and
smearing it about. I've always left it on for short periods of time,
don't know what it might do for longer. You might leave a spot
untouched just to note the comparison at first, and then the
graduation before it disappears.
