How harmful is green dye?

This is a follow up on the topic of green dye below.

Catherine,

Recently I did henna on myself and was showing Erfan the picture of
the resulting stain (pic) which was VERY good as I was using a month
old frozen paste. When Erfan found out that I used X brand powder
(don't know if I should publish the brand name here), he told me that
it's loaded with green dye and that it's harmful. Of course I'm
concerned as I've used this powder on many brides. The thing is,
there was never really a discussion on green PPD (I might be wrong
here). Do you have any reports or scientific evidence of how harmful
green PPD is? What's the difference in terms of "damage" as compared
to black henna PPD?

Your database has certainly been useful (to me, at least) as I've had
nasty experience in purchasing beautifully green, "finely sifted"
henna powder which didn't stain worth a damn. It's good to know which
henna contains what.

That powder I use has been giving very good stains, that's why I
didn't think it was dyed (I've always thought that if the powder is
dyed, it won't stain well. Is this a misconception?). I would love to
say that I care only for the resulting stain, but I couldn't allow
myself to put other people in danger just because I don't have
knowledge of it (green PPD).

Would love to hear your take on this ;)

Love & peace,

~Jewel~
