I spent a large part of this year buying and testing lost of henna
powders from the store. So many were seriously dyed and I am sure
that they probably all were dyed. I never got any sort of reaction
where the stain was placed. I never got any sort of reaction with it
at all. I was testing the powders over a period of months. Some of
the stains were excellent. Some of the stains were crap. The amount
of dye didn't necessary indicate whether or not it was going to stain
or not. Meaning that a powder that appeared to be really full of dye
could stain better than one that appeared to have less dye and vice
versa. My guess was that there were different colors of dye in the
powder and so a very deep color dye could make a powder appear to
have more dye in it than a light color dye.
