Re: Wondering ...

I think there was a time when people thought the greener the better
and that gave a false impression that dyed henna powder would be
better than a dye that was not dyed...I have had people actually
reject some henna powders that I have from Pakistan because they are
brown and not green. Because their customers insist upon green. But
hopefully that myth has been squashed.
I can't imagine anyone other than an exporter who is making money on
putting dye in henna powder thinking the dye should be there. I
haven't seen an argument for dye in henna powder coming from anyone.
Your's is exactly my point. Just keep the dyes out.
: Thanks all for the compliments ;) (And no, Kenzi ... Nick is the
: queen of Indian style pattern ;)).
: OK, I've bought enough henna powder to know that ALOT of them are
: doctored one way or another. I've been using henna since I was a
: child (skin, hair).
: If the dye is harmful and essentially useless, shouldn't we
: it from the powder? I think the issue is not about whether the dye
: makes the henna more superior or not, it should be whether it
: be THERE at all.
: Just my 2 cents.
