: --Any experiences with bad henna?

Oh yes! I pulled out some of my special "India stash" of henna to do
a bride - a friend brought it back from India and it gave a very nice
deep red stain. I found out the hard way that even with the Kenzi
stocking-strain, it would *not* consistently fit through a j-bottle
tip! That was the longest job in the universe, I had to stop so often
to clear the clogs! I was ready to give up and apply it with a
toothpick (I can't believe I used to do that! For years, even!)

: --What's your best memory of applying henna?

This past year at Sirius Rising I had a friend stop by to get
hennaed before she left for home - she gave me total artistic
license, and it was the most calm, fun, relaxing and memorable henna
I have done! I wish they could all be like that! :-)

: --Your worst?

Drunk woman at Ozzfest, who was getting her ankle done. She had one
foot up on a chair, and kept losing her balance, falling over and
spilling (cheap) beer on me! We were losing light rapidly, and it was
*not* my finest work, needless to say - and she wanted to know
everything she could do to make it last as long as possible!

: --Funniest?

Probably one of the last dinners out with my Dad (before he died). I
was pretty thoroughly hennaed, and he had been criticizing it
nonstop - the usual "you'll never get a job," "you look diseased,"
etc. When the waiter saw my hand and started exclaiming over it and
asking me tons of technical questions, my dad burst in with "She does
that all herself!!!" He sounded so proud, but he was such a fraud
about it! I laughed myself silly.
