There's several ways to make a veil as there are a couple of types. (
rectangular and semi-circular are most common.) For a rectangular
(since I don't know your daughters age) measure her arm span and add
a few inches for drape on either side. total of 12 inches plus arm
span should be plenty. If she's older and adult size the standard
size is 3 yards. These can also be 2 1/2 yards or more than 3. The
longer the more difficult to work with though. Most width's on these
are 45" ( most fabrics come off the bolt in this size)
I use rolled hems on mine and usually silk thread (lighter and
doesn't weight down the edge. (may be just my personal preference
here : ) Some people like to add sequins to one long edge . I
personally don't because of snagging on costumes etc.
Veils are pretty forgiving to make and extremly easy.
If there was anything I forgot just drop me a email : )
