: ON SHaree's fingertips, you can see the henna came up pale. I've seen
: this on nearly every black woman who straightens her hair and uses
: pressing oil, or oil of some sort each day.

Could this be the reason that I just bearly get any color when I henna
my hair? I have *incredibly* oily scalp, so much so that I have to
wash my hair twice a day just so it doesn't look like I've skipped
bathing for a week. I've left henna on my hair wrapped for up to 8
hours and bearly gotten a hint of color. My daughter who has the same
color hair as me can leave it on for 30 minutes and get the most
fabulous red you've ever seen.
