: I'm not so sure the 'terpene' nature of an oil can be smelled- is
: that what you were saying? I mean, there are literally hundreds of
: constituents in an oil, I'm not so sure that one can distinguish
any
: of the various forms of the alcohol terpene we're talking about for
: henna.
If it counts, in my ANECDOTAL! <g> experience, the terpish do have a
particular smell. I ref. terpineol, geranium, ravensara, cajeput, tea
tree and lavendar. All have an underlying brightness that's slightly
bright yellow and pale purple. Or in different terms, they all smell
like germ killers. A quick deep shiny smell. I am really odd, and ok
with it, so take this how you will. My questions about citronella as
a terp came from sniffing, that same brightness, germ killy, lavendar
sunshine scent. Does pine oil work? It's got the same smell-under.
I'm willing to bet all science(which I'm Mad for!) initially came
from intuition and instinct that no-one would take serious-like. Go
figure. Thanks as always for an interesting read, txilar.
peace
maxx
