knowing for sure or assuming that it is what they sell it
as. ::community gasp::

Some people sell scarves (veils, dupatta, chunni) as sari's. Before
you buy, read carefully! A sari is typically at least about 5-6
yards. Some go up to 9 yards. Anything shorter than 5 is probably not
a sari -or- it has been hand shortened for someone. But you need the
length to go around you a few times and to make more than a few
pleats.
