Carrot Bags

I ordered a dozen of those carrot bags from Castle Art and I am
having a little trouble with them. Perhaps you have some tips (no
pun intended!) :)

When I put the paste in, obviously you have to cut the tip off a
little to force the air out so the paste can come to the bottom. So
I did that, and it was a very small hole, enough to give a small,
fine line, which is what I wanted. But then I have been getting a
flat line that likes to curl up and not make a straight line on the
skin (perhaps my paste isn't smooth enough?) And it clogs too. If
I make the hole bigger of course the line gets too broad. I have
been having good luck taking freezer bag plastic and making my own
cones, I get a good tip with a really fine line and the same paste
comes out perfectly. But the carrot bags are more convenient since
they're ready-made and I would really like to use them. Catherine,
how do you get such beautiful work from them?!?!?!
