I was very into art as a child but didn't realize that there were
actual careers in art at which you could make a living...I thought
they were all starving artists and I didn't think that suited me. So I
strayed from art to science. i started out in science at a school
with a good medical school so I quickly got weeded out of
science, and I found myself happy in political science. I got a BA
and an MA in political science. I moved to NYC to work for the
UN, and found that very disappointing: I found it to be a
surprisingly racist, sexist, elitist and backward organization and
couldn't align myself with that. From there I started my own
business and do desktop publishing for a law firm. So I am
gradually moving toward more creative work, which I find much
more fulfilling. I'm 36 so I figure I have a couple more careers in
me yet!
