It probably depends on where you live. If you charged by the job,
instead of the hour, perhaps that would be better. When I tell folks
that each hand-one side- is $20, I don't get a lot of takers. For a
job like you're talking about, I probably would have charged under
$200, but I live in Florida where people are painfully cheap. I
defintely can't see someone spending more on their henna than on
their wedding gown. If you charge $60 per hour, then for 6 hours,
it would be $360, which is still a bit much for a luxury,
considering that her family members could probably do an adequate
job for free. If you charge by the hour, maybe you could offer an
hour for free. How attached are you to getting the gig and the
cash? I only charge $40 per hour, but I still would never pay $240
for henna application, even for a wedding....unless it's obviously a
very well-off family. So many variables to consider....sorry to not
be of more help.
