Simply ... any creep could lift pages off your table and be gone with
them and start printing them up and selling them ... unless copyright
info was on every single sheet. Prosecutable, yes, but that costs time
and money ... and is such a headache. Yes, they could take the whole
book, but that copyright info right up front and the binding is a
The price per book probably wouldn't come down much as the amount of
paper would double in this process. The book would just become useable
in a different way.
I've had 3 books published by a major publisher, and though they all
made book of the month club I know precisely how ikky it feels to have
a publisher ignore the author's needs. I do want to do right by
everyone, and I appreciate everyone's comments!
