Indigo has been used to ornament skin just as henna has, but it's more
difficult to get the job done because the larger molecule isn't going
to penetrate as easily.

It works more easily on hair and cloth than skin. Some info on henna
on silk at the link below.

Some "black henna" indigo hair mixes are henna and indigo. Some are
pure indigo. You'll have to try and see what you've got.
