User’s Guide to the Henna Page Forum


Click on the “Forum” link to go to the Forum. Click on “Post New Topic” to start a new topic. To view the discussion of any topic, click on the "Topic" Title link, and you can see the discussion thread. You may reply to a discussion thread by clicking the “Reply” button.


You may post as a guest.


You are welcome to post as a guest! You don’t have to register. If you have the same name as a registered member, you cannot post under their name. Members have name priority.


You may register your username


Click on the link here or at the bottom of the forum page, if you’d like to register as a member of this forum.

Then, click “new account sign up.” You will find registration instructions there. Once a user name is taken, nobody else may use it.

When you are registered, you may post as a member with your user name, and you will have a password. This will not give you any privilege other than insuring that you can always post under your user name, and nobody else can. Our system will create a password for you. Please keep this password in your files-- it will be hard to remember! Your password will make your account secure!

If you forget your password, you will have a link to get a new password emailed to you.


You may create a new topic and you may reply to topics.


You may start a new topic on the Henna Page Forum. Click on the “Post New Topic” link at the forum. This will take you to the page here where you may create your message.

If you are posting as a guest put your name in the box below the word “name.” Put your email, if you wish, in the box below “email.” Members have your details stored and these are added to the post automatically.

In the box below “subject,” enter the title of your topic, such as “I have a question.” Then, in the large box below the word “body”, type in what you wish to say, such as “My question is . . . ” When you have written your message and edited it to your satisfaction, click the “post” button, and your message will be posted to the forum.

There are several icons under the word “body”. When you glide your mouse over the icons, the description of what each one does will appear on the status bar at the bottom of your browser window. Click these icons to create bold text, italics, bullet points, add a link to a website, and to add images to your post.

Your images must be on a website if you wish to show them on the forum. If the image is only on your computer, and not on a website, it will not show up on the forum. When you click the Add Image button (the last icon on the right in the series of 13 icons) <img src="http://www.web_address.here to your image"> will appear in your message box. Add your image url after <img src=", such as http://www.hennaforhair.com/mixes/ccj.html like this: <img src="http://www.hennaforhair.com/mixes/ccj.html"> .

Is this forum supported?

This forum has been set up to help communication between people interested in the use of henna around the world.  The forum is moderated.  Obscene, spam, repeated commercial, and off topic posts will be removed.  The Henna Page is proud to be recommended by schools as a resource for henna and multicultural education material, so the moderator may also remove rude, disruptive and inflammatory posts that would jeopardize this privilege.  Marguerite Johnson is in charge of removing posts that are unacceptable on The Henna Page.  Marguerite Johnson is the job title of moderator for The Henna Page, and several persons hold that job.


What can I post about?

You may post about henna as body art, and topics related to henna body art.  These include discussions of culture, history, traditions, and chemistry related to henna body art and related arts.  Since this is an electronic resource, some discussion of digital information systems is also appropriate to assisting people access their henna information.

This is not  is it a forum for henna as hair dye. If henna for hair is your interest,  please go to  http://www.hennaforhair.com.  If you do post about henna for hair on The Henna Page, you will be asked to re-post on Henna for Hair, or Marguerite Johnson will move your post to Henna for Hair,  and your Henna Page post will be deleted in about 24 hours.  

This is not a forum for products  termed "colored henna".  If you want to find out about working with natural colors and henna, see http://www.hennapage.com/henna/how/morecolors.html. Henna Page Forum does not handle discussions of new artificial products termed "colored henna".  Please inquire about them from the person who sold them to you.

Commercial advertising posts are not popular with forum readers and will most likely reduce, not increase your sales. Repeated commercial posts will be removed. Any person who appears to post only to draw business traffic to their commercial website may find their posts deleted.  The Henna Page Forum is provided to assist communication and information dissemination about and related topics.  It is NOT a place to advertise for free or build traffic to your website! 

Irrelevant off topic posts will be deleted.

Chinese and Japanese characters, tattoo guns, and Egyptian hieroglyphics are best found on other websites, and posts requesting these will be deleted.

Abusive posts, and repeated identical posts are not acceptable, and repeated violations may lead to your ISP being banned from the forum. Anyone  making disruptive or provocative posts (flaming or flamebaiting), obscene or offensive posts may be asked to cease doing so, or may have their posts deleted.  Anyone whose posts draw frequent complaints from forum regulars may be asked to cease posting, and may have their posts deleted or blocked. 

Who are the Info Goddess?

The Info Goddess is a pseudonym only to be used to direct inquires to relevant information pages at The Henna Page.
