My alternative to Kohl!Posted by Hennacat on February 24, 2005 at 12:09:20: In reply to: Just in case you use, or were thinking of using kohl........DON'T! posted by Catherine Cartwright-Jones on February 23, 2005 at 14:42:14: In 1995 I did a Bacteriology module as part of my Zoology degree. Foran experimental project I chose to test my make up and brushes for bacteria. The results were like a horror film. Even relatively new Kohl pencils, eye liners and lipsticks were hugely infected with various bacteria - since then I have applied fake 'kohl'. I get a black eyeshadow and a very fine paint brush (I use actual artists paint brushes because they are good quality and relaively cheap so I can throw them out every few weeks) dip the brush in some water, then in the powder and then apply the mix around my eyes. Clean the brush and let it dry. Really simple (you probably already do this!) and keeps the infection down to an minimum. This company - which is part of 'LUSH' do a kohl powder which has had rave reviews and knowing the ethics of the company, unlikely to contain anything horrible! http://www.bnevertoobusytobebeautiful.com/
