I did a flea market like this in Manhattan in a very upscale, expensive shopping neighborhood, thinking that shoppers would stop by and be delighted by my stuff. In reality it seemed that the minute they walked in they adopted the standard mentality, tried to get me to bargain my prices down etc. For me it just wasn't worth it. The fair I did had mostly "antiques" with some people selling handicrafts; this was probably a pretty good mix; if it had been nothing but "antiques" I would have done even more poorly.
