That's a valuable service. However, if at all possible don't make
him an offer until you find out what he thinking of. If 10% makes
him jump up and down and sing, that's great. If he's expecting 50%,
well, it's good to have a starting place to negotiate from.
All the places I've worked that had me give a cut have asked for 1/3
or 30%.
