piercing jewelry OTPosted by eyðimørk on April 4, 2003 at 02:19:19: In reply to: Re: Those who work in tattoo shops- Nick? posted by Nick on April 2, 2003 at 19:30:23: Indeed, quality is important. If you are in Europe, you have toremember the EU regulations as well (for a healing piercing, for example, only Titanium is allowed because 316L has too high a percentage -and that's still low- of nickel). Although, if you're doing ear jewelry and not just body jewelry, I find it depends a little where you get it from. My mother in law brought me back a pair of pretty silver ear rings from a trip back home to Lebanon, and she never gets anything very cheap, but they make my ear piercings all watery. At first I thought I opened the holes too much or something, but I talked to my mother's ex mother in law, who told me about her allergy to her hearing aid (the plastic), which caused the same thing. ...the only jewelry I have that my ears have not rejected is 14K gold and cheap I-don't-have-a-clue-what's-in-this East Asian imports (moral of the story is: cheap isn't always bad, but if you can, find out the contents).
