great advicePosted by Alissa on April 30, 2003 at 23:03:09: In reply to: duh posted by Anne Beltestad on April 30, 2003 at 17:29:40: Anne's given great criteria for a good henna booth babe ;).I'm blessed with Rebecca. Rebecca loves henna. She's personable and will chat people up if they stop to look at the sign, or the books. She's faboo with money. She's taken my very own workshop and knows everything about henna, and fields questions about it, after care, what have you. She seals designs for me, if I tell someone they should wait and be sealed, and Rebecca has a good eye for not spraying too early. She often gets hennaed by me, if there's a lull, which is helpful to show people all day what to expect, how it may crackle with wear, or how it's a pumpkin orange at paste removal (and scrap off a dot of Rebecca's design, only to fix it later). I give her 10 per cent of my overall take, usually without considering the booth fee from that amount, unless it was a very poor day. On extremely poor days, she's walked away with nothing but some new henna from me, since that also meant we had a LOT of time on our hands with no biz happening. If you find anyone in your life who is your Rebecca, I encourage you wholeheartedly to make them your booth babe for as long as you can. You will sooooo be loving it if/when things get busy.
