Last year I had a very dark (but not that dark!) hennaed palm, and I
asked my dance teacher from Uzbekistan about henna use there... our
translator had to reassure her that my designs *were* henna, she'd
never seen it that dark!
(I did finally get to see some henna from Bukhara, Uzbekistan, on
video - it looked to be solid palms, no design, and orange. The film
was shot at a distance, but the woman who shot it didn't remember
seeing designs.)
