Help on organizing large events

I'm applying for a one-day event that attracts 20-25,000 people.
It's a multicultural dance festival with an attached street fair.
I've never done a fair this large. I'll probably need more people.
Any thoughts on how many artists per expected eventgoer?
My husband will be there directing traffic and answering questions,
so that's taken care of at least. I think I'll use Kenzi's terrific
idea of issuing numbered stickers instead of having people wait in
line. Further suggestions are most welcome!
