I'm doing a show this weekend and : will have my first 10x10 tent (was open air or umbrella last year). A : quick rundown of what I've got or plan to bring: : Make a batch of terped paste from 100 gms powder + some extra powder : just in case, rolled into cones I always bring double the paste I think I will need. I just got back from a 25,000 attendance event and I took about 400g of paste. I used about 300g on clientele over the weekend and sold the rest to one of my regular clients who attended. I always offer to sell my unused cones at the end of an event...and it was nice to do so this time (I actually gave a couple of cones away to people I had to turn away). Better to be safe than sorry...I think. : I use a plastic travel toothpick for corrections(neat little find in a : gas station, bought 4 lol),LS & cotton balls, baby wipes I am so lazy...probably the most lazy here. I use the tip of the cone and my fingernails for corrections. Always have them, never lose them...lol (but you should hear me whine when I break a nail) : I found a neat tool/craft caddy called Durapro Rockbox at a garage : sale brand new, has a built in radio on the front If you are using the radio/cd/tape player...extra batteries and don't forget to pack your music. : I have 6 binders(planning 3 design books of 2 ea) & a master book (all : designs for reference) : reciept book - does anyone use a cashbox? If not what do you use? I use my Ganesh lunchbox for a cashbox. When I am packing up for an event all my paste goes in this box anyway. My box is kept on MY table and it's tucked in the back corner of my booth. : I'm going out with my husband tomorrow to get a table and 3 camp : chairs and a cot(for doing backs & tummy work). Anyone suggest a table : thats sturdy & portable? Not sure what size table you are looking for, but I saw new folding PLASTIC! tables at WalMart for $50. It's about dining size. If it's too big, try the camping section. There's smaller side tables that pack down small. I have 2 wood folding tables that I use (one to hold my cd player and candles, and the other to hold any odds and ends stock I may have). I have a special table that I keep all the essentials on. I pack most of my stuff in my big rubbermaid tote and once I am unpacked I drape a cloth over it and that is the 'table' I keep pattern books on. : I have some cotton tapestries to hang and pillows I can bring for : atmosphere. We will be on grass but eventually want some of the x- pen : mats CCJ recommends. Check any oriental markets around you, those dog mats (called something else tho) are often in them. I keep hearing the store in B'ham has them but I have yet to go up and get one. It's Montana...going to be dry and warm, so maybe you might check into a carpet supply store for a cheap remnant to fit your booth? If you plan on using the tapestries all the time for your booth, you might want to sew some loops at the bottom to stake them into the ground. Very annoying to have your 'walls' flapping around all the time in the wind. : I'll have black henna warning info available as well. The show is in : Montana but never know where poisons going to show up or who it may help. : I'm contemplating the signed consent forms, any opinions? I did consent forms for maybe 3 shows...didn't feel I needed them. But it's your call...whatever makes your clientele comfortable. : One main thing is what do you do for lighting when there's no ac/dc : available? Call it a night and have dinner...lol. Lanterns help and throw out enough light for me. There are camping 'tent lights' that are small and portable. Tap lights might help also. And you have a sign? Sounds like you have it covered pretty well. Have a good time! Justine Willowhawk
