Sorry to hear thatPosted by Rose on July 12, 2003 at 23:41:42: In reply to: not at a loss for words.....very very long "nearly topic" rant posted by Willowhawk on July 12, 2003 at 22:49:50: Sorry to hear that you had such a bad time. I can't comment too muchon the business aspects of what happened and the possible future, but I will say I don't think your neighbors understood children very well. Not every one actually likes children. I have been providing child care for over a year and a half (this has been in many ways the hardest job of my life) and it sounds like pretty typical behavior for a three year old to me. Three can be a somewhat trying age, as you surely remember from your other son. That certainly doesn't mean your child has ADD or ADHD and I think she's crass for implying so. Also I grew up in foster care, so let me just say that anyone who leaves their child in the system and doesn't do everything humanely possible to get them out is an definetly an unfit parent. I don't know why her child is in foster care either, but its not juvenile hall and the children are not the ones to blame when they end up in foster care. It always goes back to the parents somehow, and although I know of some parents who are torn up over losing their children, she sounded a little too complacent when talking about it, from what I can make out in your post. I wouldn't give her criticisms a second thought, and don't beat yourself up over what happened. Eveyone who has children must have a story like that.
