You have my complete sympathy!I've never had people be this rude, especially at an SCA event. Some people just aren't kid-friendly, but some of this behavior is downright dumb and anti-business as well as rude. On the other hand, I've learned I can't expect to do more than two jobs at once (any Mom learns to do two!) and a bright, curious, PERFECTLY NORMAL child under four counts as two all on his own. By all means go to SCA events, but bring someone with you to babysit. Like it says on my website, my husband's place in the business is keeping the children from jostling Mama's arm while she hennas. Some people think that's humor, but it's true and essential. You may offer your older kid some cash, or maybe someone else has a kid that would love the opportunity to come to events and earn some money. It doesn't have to be a lot. My last sitter worked all evening for dinner and a henna design! Free advertising AND I don't have to have children underfoot- a good deal. And of course you'll do your best work when you're relaxed knowing your kids are having some safe fun. Don't give up. Lauren
