The same person who, at one time, had lifted designs from Liisa's
hennatopia's site and refused to give credit?
And even though I think those designs are no longer featured on your
site, I suppose my low opinion of you started at that point. And even
if that wasn't you, this post of yours gives me an impression of you
as someone who gives stock to the idea that popularity or mass
availability is a sign of worth.
As in- Just 'cause there's a McDonald's on every corner the world
over doesn't mean the concept of American Cuisine has been done any
favors by that sort of mass availability.
And just 'cause you didn't know about henna "tattoos" (as you call
them) until two or three years ago, doesn't mean that the practices
of henna artistry were "dust" until then. You didn't revive henna, it
was assimilated to our Western culture.

I just get this overall impression that you seem to have the spirit
of a BH Artist despite your use of natural henna- in that, whatever
works for best for you is what works.
Which is, in my world, a Karmicly dangerous fallacy to live by.

: I totally understand where you're coming from....
: You don't want your designs to be compromised by some Booh Hoo big
: corporation who's going to mass market your designs.
: I think, and please excuse my passionate writing, that you are
: totally wrong. If you request to have your name on each copyrighted
: material made, ie stencil, you'll help through your designs bring
: henna & the art of menhdi to the mass population out there. Isn't
: this what we all want? Don't we all want everyone out there to be
: aware of henna and to use it once in a while?
: Don't do the mistake of all the henna artists in the past centuries
: that let it become dust until we've come to revive it!
: I'd say you should go forth with it... even if it is to be able to
: walk into a big store one day and see one of your designs on the
: shelf, even if it doesn't bare your name on it, and have in your
: heart the joy of having created something long-lasting that many
: people would spend their precious dollars to acquire & use it
: because it looks cool. That sense of achievement is priceless.
