Apparently we are not artists... steaming mad...Posted by Lauren on July 31, 2003 at 08:04:45: I wrote to the vendor info people for a cool large event featuringart, books, and food. I thought it would be great for henna. I just got a letter back and man am I steamed. Basically, it said that they looked at my site, and although they appreciated my skills, they didn't think I would fit in with the atmosphere of the event. Apparently they think henna is only for carnivals and flea markets. I wish I could quote exactly but I erased the email. There are certainly people shoveling out devils and barbed wire at carnivals and the like across the nation. I don't want them to think that's all there is to henna. What I would do at an art festival is- art. Traditional designs all the way. I don't see how what I do is any less of an art form than an elephant spattering paint on a canvas with its trunk, and I can bet they'd line up to offer that! Is it worth writing them back? I think I'm going to, and I'll let you know what they say. Lauren
