I am working in My short answer is 'no'. I think there are some stunning needlework out there and from the sounds of what your doing, it's art. I think that there is plenty of room for true art. I myself am an 'illistrated woman' and love my tats. But I think what most have a problem with (IMHO) is the 'trashy' 'jailhouse' stuff. You know the difference between a professional tattoo done in an ancient tradition, or that is a beautiful art piece...and someone wearing the teltale blue smudgy lines of jail work or pen ink and needle, right? Same call I'm guessing. Traditional art, contemporary art, or crap. Sometimes we are all forced to do the playboy bunny tat, or whatever...but if that's all your doing on purpose and only into it for the pure $$ and have sucked all the joy out of the artform....or giving it a bad name...I think that's what is raising hackles. The money grabbers who don't care AT ALL. Ink artists have to suffer that way we do too. "Not ANOTHER rose/taz devil/barbed wire" Many even charge clients extra for the bordom factor. I could be wrong....but that's just my take. Kimmy I dunno....
