: But is henna work that mimics tattoos *always* trash? I am working
in
: a tattoo shop right now, and I am trying to bring part of my henna
: work in an interesting new direction. Lately I have been doing a
lot
: of work styled after Japanese horimono tattoos, with shading and
: everything. This is a new technique that I have not seen anyone
else
: try, and I am really in love with the results... gorgeous, classy
: traditional Japanese style henna work, modeled after gorgeous
: traditional Japanese tattoos..

I'd love to see that. It sounds gorgeous.
But I think everyone can tell the difference between meaningful,
beautiful, professionally done body artwork and McMehndi fake tattoo
crap. One is meaningful and art. One is.. well... not. It's not
whether it looks like a tattoo or not but whether it's art or not
that's the issue.
