I do plenty of the barbed wire/kanji/crap flash, but i feel the same
way about it... it's not what i like doing, but it pays for the fun
things. Last week I was rewarded with 2 wonderful pieces... a leafy
vine swirling all the way down a girl's arm, and a gorgeous koi fish
I hennaed on a girl's calf. And by doing the other crap work, i am
able to give people i am really excited to work with price breaks.
Someone has kindly volunteered to host my picture, so I'll post it at
the top of the forum, with an explanation of technique.

: : But is henna work that mimics tattoos *always* trash?
:
: lol Nick, you are such a sweetie. Have you EVER done a ton of work
: that would consitantly fall into the 'barbed wire/cartoon
: character/kanji/crap flash on the wall' category? Some how I doubt
: that.
: I have known tattoo artists who only looked at the 'flash' on their
: walls as 'what pays the bills' but the custom pieces/large art
: pieces were looked at as 'what feeds the artist'.
: Japanese tattoo's are NOT flash, that is definately an artform.
:
: oh...I can host a pic, but if I don't get it tonight...I'll be
gone
: all weekend.
