I'm sorry that you got such anegative response from them, and I am sorry that henna has been pushed out of that community as not worthy. I suppose their criteria for what is body modification is permanence, but now that tattoos can be removed and piercings can close up, what does permanent really mean? By that measure black henna SHOULD be considered a bod mod since it can scar a person permanently! Perhaps the criteria is pain and I suppose the pain (in the next) that comes from having to wait several hours while your henna dries does not count, nor does the pain you feel as your latest design fades too quickly or doesn't fade quickly enough, or the pain you feel when you can't henna because you have a job interview/wedding/meeting etc. I think we have all experienced instances where members of the bod mod community turns up their noses at our henna and say "I have a real one". I understand their point, but I resent the ignorance and arrogance behind the statement, and the unwillingness to learn more about henna, especially considering how many henna lovers are also bod modders. I don't know what you can do to convince them to change their minds; sounds like they have made their decision and aren't likely to change it. I guess you have to live with each foot in a different world, one in the bod mod world and the other in the henna world.
